Saving the Kats

KATS OWNER BUD ADAMS GAVE FANS NO NOTICE BEFORE FOLDING THE ARENA FOOTBALL TEAM LAST NIGHT.

TONIGHT AT LEAST ONE FAN SAYS HE BELIEVES THE SUPPORT IS HERE TO SAVE THE TEAM... IF OWNERS ARE WILLING TO LISTEN.

UNLIKE THE PREDATORS...THERE WERE NO "SAVE THE KATS" RALLIES OR FUNDRAISERS BEFORE LAST NIGHT'S DECISION.

BUT TONIGHT ONE FAN...TELLS US HE BELIEVES THERE WOULD'VE BEEN...IF ONLY THE 8-THOUSAND FANS WHO REGULARLY SHOW UP TO GAMES KNEW THEIR TEAM WAS ABOUT TO FOLD

LARRY CARTER IS NO CASUAL FAN.
"It's probably the last football that came out of the lockeroom signed."

OVER THE YEARS...

"This is Mr. tillers glove number 88"

HIS FAMILY HAS COLLECTED PLENTY OF GAME-DAY-GOODS.

"An actual game jersey belonged to Aaron McConnel."

THIS YEAR HE EVEN BOUGHT 14 SEASON TICKETS FOR THE KATS....

ONLY TO LEARN...THE TEAM ISN'T GOING TO BE PLAYING ANYMORE.

Larry Carter/KATS Fan "I was really disgusted I felt like a lot of people had been shortchanged."

CARTER BELIEVES HE'S NOT THE ONLY KATS FAN WHO FEELS THAT WAY...SO HE'S STARTING A PETITION TO ASK OWNER BUD ADAMS...TO CHANGE HIS MIND.

Larry Carter/KATS Fan "I think we can do it I know we've got a number of days but I think we can show him we mean business...that we want to keep the KATS here."

IT MAY BE AN IMPOSSIBLE DREAM...AT LEAST ACCORDING TO GENERAL MANAGER BOB FLYNN.

Bob Flynn/General Manager "As much a I'd like to say it would...it was a tough decision for Mr. Adams to make...he looked at every angle he could...it's probably not going to happen."

FLYNN SAYS TEAM OWNERS EVEN LOOKED AT SELLING THE KATS...BUT IN THE END DECIDED TO FOLD THE TEAM...BECAUSE OF LOW TICKET SALES.

Bob Flynn/General Manager "It's a tough market right now...when it was here originally there's wasn't as much competition."

STILL...THIS FAN SAYS THERE IS ROOM FOR THE KATS...

AND HE BELIEVES FANS WOULD'VE RALLIED TO SAVE THE TEAM JUST LIKE PREDATORS FANS HAVE...IF ONLY THEY KNEW IT WAS IN JEOPARDY.

Larry Carter/KATS Fan "Yes I think if we'd been given enough time and we knew how serious the situation had been I think we'd have taken care of the situation...i think more tickets would have been sold."

KATS MANAGEMENT IS DOWNPLAYING THE SURPRISE OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT SAYING THEY BELIEVE THE FINANCIAL STATE OF AFFAIRS HAS RECEIVED ATTENTION IN LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS.

THEY ALSO TELL US CHECKS WILL BE GOING OUT SOON TO FANS WHO ARE OWED TICKET REFUNDSSaving the Kats
