MTSU Alternative Fuel

Prices at the pump are at an all-time high.

Tonight, one local university is trying to ease the pain by filling tanks with used cooking oil instead of diesel fuel.

MTSU professors and students are working with Green Driving Solutions, turning a bus into a diesel-free ride.

They’re also changing a golf cart from battery-operated to solar-powered.

Professors say it’s another step toward learning more about alternative and cleaner energy.

MTSU's alt-energy team has named the bus "Greased Lightning."
