Young Robber on the Run

The newest addition to the TBI’s most wanted list is charged in a string of felony thefts including a home invasion in Franklin. Agents say the suspect began his criminal career on Halloween night.

Daniel Steele is a fresh-faced young man who lived in a middle class neighborhood in Williamson County.
But on Halloween night of 2007, the TBI says Steele turned into something of a cat burglar and allegedly broke into Marie Head's house on Hardison Avenue in Franklin.

“A diamond bracelet, tennis shoes, 170-dollars in money and two cameras."

Head was in bed at the time of the break-in. She tells Fox 17 she heard some noise but dismissed it as her husband coming in late.

"I woke up, but if I had gotten up, if they were so brave to come in the house, they could have killed me."

And according to TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm, Mrs. Head might have good reason to be afraid.

"He's a young guy. He has no known criminal history, however, when we did a concentual search of his room where he was staying, we found three different firearms"

The second break-in happened at a house on Davidson Street in Franklin just a couple of blocks from the first. This time there was no one home but the TBI says Steele stole similar items; jewelry and electronic equipment.

Daniel Steele was born in September of 1987. He has black hair and brown eyes. He's about 5'9 and 145-pounds. If you see him, call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
