Dogs Poisoned By Anti-Freeze - Sky Arnold
Authorities in Dekalb County are investigating what may be multiple cases of dog poisoning.
Neighbors say at least five dogs have died as a result of being poisoned by anti-freeze in the community of Dowelltown.
Rita Hale says her dog Dixie was one of them. She believes he ate meat that was purposely poisoned and left out in the open over the weekend. Like the other victims, Hale says she often let's her dog run free.
"This was nothing but cruel," said Hale. "This was not for any other means than to kill something because you don't like it or it was bothering you."
An owner of one of the poisoned dogs tells FOX 17 she found a container of meatloaf mixed with anti-freeze in a neighbor's yard. She says the homeowner told her he put the food out for neighborhood dogs to eat but didn't put the anti-freeze in it.
