Coffee Co. Mayor Collects More Than Votes - John Dunn
Elected officials are used to collecting votes but the mayor of Coffee County has taken collecting to the extreme.
David Pennington is a man full of new ideas but Coffee County's mayor has a passion for all things old.
The mayor's office is a like a mini-museum. Practically everything you see is a conversation piece.
You'll find more to look at the Jiffy Burger down the street, it has been in the Pennington family for more than 40 years.
But to really see the mayor's collection.. you need to head out to his warehouse, an entire building full of more stuff than we can possibly show you.
Mayor Pennington says this 1960 World Series baseball, signed by every member of the New York Yankees, is his favorite.
So don't be surprised to see Mayor Pennington at your neighborhood flea market. As he'll tell you, the hunt never ends.
Mayor Pennington isn't the only Coffee County official with a collection. Manchester's Mayor Betty Superstein is also an avid collector. The two of them host a weekly antique show on the local radio station. Coffee Co. Mayor Collects More Than Votes - John Dunn
