Swat Team Called To Hotel Standoff
Metro police called on the swat team to help get a man wanted for attempted homicide out of a Rivergate hotel.
Captain Michele Donegan, with Metro police, said the incident happened around 1 a.m. Thursday at the Baymont Inn and Suites. She said the suspect had barricaded himself inside a room and refused to come out.
Several surrounding hotel rooms were evacuated during the standoff. Donegan said officials called in more officers, the swat team, and some negotiators to try to get the man to surrender.
Police kept the area isolated for about five hours during their attempts to get the suspect into custody. Donegan said negotiators spent about two hours talking to the suspect, who surrendered to police peacefully.
Officials are not releasing the name of the suspect, but say he was wanted for attempted homicide and will now face those those charges.Swat Team Called To Hotel Standoff
