Evacuees Ready To Go Home - Sky Arnold
The more than 6,000 evacuees staying in Tennessee may have to wait several more days here.
Tennessee's Emergency Management Agency says it's not ready to say when those people will be returned home.
"I know people have seen coverage on TV and they think that some of the places escaped significant damage but we're trying to sort out where we can send those evacuees back safely," said TEMA Spokesperson Jeremy Heidt.
A representative from Louisiana's Governor will be meeting with Evacuees Wednesday to discuss their needs and what kind of help may be available.
Some evacuees say they're getting anxious to leave the shelters.
"This is not my home, I'm not from Tennessee and don't want to be in Tennessee," said Irietta Gant, and evacuee from New Orleans.
There are 8 shelters open in Middle Tennessee housing 1,885 evacuees.
