Bruce Mendenhall Accused of Trying to Hire a Hitman
A truck driver denies trying to hire a hitman while in jail to kill five people, including two metro detectives working his case.
Bruce Mendenhall pleaded not guilty to solicitation to commit first degree murder charges today during his video arraignment.
Authorities say the 57 year old Illinois native tried to hire a Dickson county man to kill Sergeant Pat Postiglione and Detective Lee Freeman as well as three witnesses.
He was in the metro jail on murder charges for allegedly killing Sarah Hulbert at a downtown truckstop.
