Parking Lot Attack Victim Back On Campus - Sky Arnold
A college student police say was attacked over a parking spot is back on campus.
Ashley Ramsay returned to meet with her friends on the MTSU Color Guard Wednesday and plans to return to classes next week.
The college freshman was severely cut on the face, arm, and hand during the attack at a Middle Tennessee State University parking lot. She's undergoing surgery Thursday and next week to repair tendon and nerve damage.
Her injuries will likely keep her off the MTSU Color Guard this year because she can't wave her flag.
"I'll live through it. I know life is like a roller coaster. I'm down right now but I know God is going to find a way and something good will happen down the road," said Ramsay.
Police say the attack that caused her injuries occured last week when another student, Starlett Custer, tried to pull into the same parking spot as Ramsay then pulled out a blade.
Because of the criminal case against Custer, Ramsay declined to answer any questions about the alleged attack but she does say it left her scared.
"Pretty much right as it ended I realized I'm not in good shape. I was afraid for my life. I was like am I going to bleed to death. I even asked the cops that, am I gonna be OK," said Ramsay.
Starlett Custer was later charged with Aggravated Assault.
Her mother disputes the police version of the story saying Custer didn't pull out a blade.Parking Lot Attack Victim Back On Campus - Sky Arnold
